Relief Printing - Reduction Linocut

This two-day course is designed for those who are beginning to explore creative possibilities, as well as those with prior experience who are keen to refresh or expand their printmaking knowledge and skills. This course will explore the bold and graphic nature of multi-colour reduction prints.

Participants will be shown how to prepare blocks, carving techniques, ink preparation and inking techniques, and registration methods.

The Reduction Linocut method uses only a single block is to print all colours of the one image, typically printing from lightest to darkest. It requires careful planning and a reference drawing is very useful. Participants will learn how to print by hand as well as using a variety of printing presses, to produce original fine art prints.

Conditions of Enrolment

Full payment must be made at time of registration.

Refunds will only be given if:

• Payment is received after the class has been filled.

• The class is cancelled.

• The participant notifies APW of their withdrawal at least 14 days before the start date of the class (a fee of $50 will be charged for each withdrawal).

APW is not responsible for non-refundable airline or travel tickets or accommodation purchased by class participants. Parking is restricted around APW. Public transport is a convenient alternative. APW reserves the right to add, withdraw or vary the program.
