A Taste of Printmaking

This three-day taster offers the opportunity to explore a combination of skills and techniques - plastic plate engraving, monoprint and chine-collé. Use drawings or photographs as guides to draw, scratch and incise directly into plastic plates, creating images with texture and tone. Construct spontaneous and colourful monotypes, merging painting and printmaking, to create beautiful one-of-a-kind prints. Learn how to combine the mediums and use chine-collé techniques to create multi-plate images, with watercolours and oil-based inks.

These techniques are ideal for teachers to take back to the school classroom and for secondary students preparing their art folios.
